A late 80s Tunturi Frame and Fork Given a New Life?

This is a CroMo frame. The original steel wheels have been tossed; they were rusted out completely. The front tire may be an original Hardpack II Specialized tire; the rear one has been replaced with a Velociraptor. The front and rear deraillers and shifters do not appear to be original parts although the front cogs are Biopace and appear to be original. Other mods I made:

The rear and front rims are now Mavic 238s with STX Parallax hubs with Salsa quick releases.
I sealed the front steering-fork drop top and bottom with used tire tubing to prevent water from getting into the steering bearings.
The chain is not original.
The shattered pedals were replaced with pedals from the same era that were in much better shape.

All parts added were found, mostly from craigslist-free, except for some bearings, the bell, and the rear tire--I purchased those; total cost just under $20.

The frame is the best I've ever owned when it comes to actual fit and control. Tunturi is a Finnish company that still makes bikes. Although they do not appear to be currently selling them in the United States, they did so in the mid-80s.

Other oddities:
There is a manual adjuster for the top bearing cup for the streering. It is currently covered by rubber in the photo so you can't see it. It permits you to tighten the bearings without tools...although I haven't yet figured out why I might want to do that.
