I've been meaning to take a couple of photos of my bike and put them here for weeks, and finally I have.

A couple of years ago I made an arrangement with a friend who used to build bikes at Bruce Gordon Cycles in Petaluma. They needed a website designed and I needed a bike, so we did a trade.
The frame was found in somebody's side yard, all rusty; they gave it to us for free. I think it's a mid-1950s Schwinn. The other parts were things my friend had been collecting in the back room of the bike shop over the years: the chain ring, the handlebars, the new-old-stock leather seat, the rubber grips, etc.
Other parts were new: the headlight, the tires, the bell, and the Shimano internal gears (it's a 7-speed).
The damn thing is so heavy it nearly gives me a hernia every time I take it down the front steps to go for a ride, but I love it.
