Hi all,
I'm surprised no one else has posted on here about going to any Pride events this weekend. I think I'm going to the Palms Sunday night--anyone want to join me?

Re: Pride?
Sun, June 10, 2007 - 3:48 PMI've seen so much hostility toward bisexuals in the gay community that I tend to shy away from pride events and similar gay oriented functions. Even the last time we went to Club Here, I mentioned to someone that I was bi and she literally leaped away from me and yelled "Ew!"
I don't think that all gay people are like that by any means. But from my experience it seems like the more that they are part of the gay culture, the more likely they are to have bad feelings (at best) towards bisexuals. It makes me feel very uncomfortable at those kinds of events. This is totally just based on my experience though, and if your experiences have been otherwise, that's great.
So! Don't let me convince anyone not to go. I've heard that Pride events can be a real blast, and I hope you have a great time Amy. :)

Re: Pride?
Sun, June 10, 2007 - 4:56 PMWell, that was kind of my thought in trying to get some women from here together to go-- safety in numbers, right? Anyway, I'm feeling less enthusiastic; don't really want to go by myself.
