When I started this tribe, I decided to make a policy that only girls with a profile picture up and a couple of friends could join. The idea was to help make sure that all the members were real people, not some fourteen year old boy making a throw-away account to peek into the girls locker room, or otherwise start trouble.

I recently realized though that a lot of girls might be joining tribe for the first time, just to get on the BIsect tribe. Those girls wouldn't have any friends yet and may not have gotten around to putting up a picture. Of course we still want to keep our community safe and comfortable, but we also don't want to shut members out.

After putting some thought into it, I decided that the best thing to do is make an exception for anyone who is already a member on bisect.org, and let them on as long as they promise to put a picture up right away.

So, if you are inviting a member to the tribe, let them know to include their email address in the tribe membership request so we can verify that they're on bisect.org. Or better yet, add them as a friend right away and bug them to get their picture up. Cuz lets face it, it's a lot more fun to look around the room and see a bunch of lovely faces than it is to see a bunch of question mark boxes!
