My wonderful, lovely, and talented wife is making an art project for the SoCal Decom this weekend. The theme is Dreamland, and she is making Sheepytime, a free-standing art display that will consist of projected sheep silhouettes to help the insomniacal off to dreamland.
We have constructed an eight-way projector and will house it in a small (10') bjurt. We are removing most of the cross-pieces and wrapping it in thin, UV-reactive fabric. Thus, each 4'x4' wall will be its own rear-projection screen.
The piece has good placement and should be a big hit.
I will post pictures after the event.
Cheers,

Re: Bjurt in an art project
Thu, October 22, 2009 - 9:33 AMArgh! All that work and we didn't take _one_ photo of the thing! Luckily a friend did, and even though it's a bit blurry, you get the idea: tribes.tribe.net/bjurts/ph...fee2cbfa55
Luckily, we still have all the parts, so we'll have to build it again, shoot it in the dark and the light, and maybe stop the sheep from marching while we take an exposure shot or two.
Suffice to say, it was a big success. The sheep marched around the bjurt in a slow march, while the over-amplified (the boom box got stuck on 10, and it doesn't seem mechanical, the computer just seems to want it there) lullabies washed across the area.
Cheers,
