Third Annual Balanced Rock Sculpture Workshops
In Berkeley's ACCI Gallery Garden

Friday, May 23, 2008
Two sessions: 12-1:30 p.m. and 4:30-6 p.m. (register for one session only)

I'll start with a brief demonstration and introduction to the physics, techniques, and aesthetics of balanced rock sculptures. Then I'll invite you to work in a spirit of playful exploration while I offer one-on-one instruction.

No previous rock balancing experience is required. Everyone's work will be included in the online gallery I create from workshop photos.

The workshops are held in the garden of ACCI Gallery, located at 1652 Shattuck Avenue, Berkeley, CA, between Cedar and Virginia.

Each session is limited to five students, and ADVANCE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Workshops have always been full, so early registration is recommended. Contact me to register. The workshop fee is $15 (one scholarship slot is available). All proceeds benefit ACCI through Berkeley Foundation for the Arts. Bring one rock (any size) to the workshop as a donation, and wear clothes that are suited to sitting on the ground while you work.

Hi brsc stackers and friends-

I'll be sending a general invite out to my tribes next week, but specially wanted to get it out early to all of you. This is my 3rd annual environmental art event on Stinson - Saturday 4/21, 11am-3pm, south end of the beach. Rock stacking has always been a big part of our event.

Helllloooow my lovelies!
So as, most of you know, our ploy to get more space in BRC worked wonderfully, because we... Spike's and Black Rock Stacking Camp are the coolest ever!!
And due to this fact... WE NEED MORE ROCKS!!!!!!!!
AND a way to keep them organized and haulable.
Sooooo.......
If you happen to have a few rocks laying around... and want them to live @ BRSC so they can get some action.... Bring them with you to Spike and Ravens on loading day or to BRC with you.
I am thankful for all shapes, sizes, colors, textures, or geological make up.
We are trying to bring all these rocks in a modular fashion... so they don't roll around and squish things...
And the method we are going for is to put them in milk crates so they are more managible inside the truck. ( other suggestions are welcome)
If you have any of these to donate... It would mean less chance of my getting in trouble for stealing them from behined various safeways and long's'.
Oooorrrr.... If anyone is feeling adventurous, you could practice for Thievery Thursday...and "borrow" a few yourself.
If anyone has/will have any milk crates... Tell me and I will arrange to get them from you. They could also be brought to mini Spike's at RWB this weekend, or taken to Spike and Raven's Vamp Casa.
I will be bringing special presents for anyone who contributes!
Plus Kisses or Bites depending or what you prefer.

ok so here is the list of day time Wonder Twins dress up themes for Burning Man 2006. we are posting this so that anyone who would like to join us may do so. we're most likly going to be a BRSC for much of the days running the Zen side of things, but while we are out and about we will be grabbing anyone that fits our theme and congratulating them on joining us.

Mahalo Monday --- dress in and show your aloha spirit ---

Tu-Tu Tuesday --- everyone has a tu-tu at BM ---

Wild-Wild West Wednesday --everyone has a cowboy hat/this will also be the day where the cowboys vs pirates (and some ninjas) showdown happens

Thievery Thursday ---dress like a thief, dress like a inmate, dress like a pirate, take things from people and give them to their friends.---

Fuzzy Friday -- where your faux fur, where your fuzzy fun rubben outfit ---

so there you have it - take it of leave it - have fun - play nice (by nice i mean naughty)
