I anyone has a place to rent or know of somewhere I can move, I'd really appreciate the help. I need to move ASAP!
I've just gotten a new job and am looking to be within 35 miles of the Brea Area. Why I'm asking for help is my ex-girlfriend and roommate and I are thru with each other, she's selling her place to move back to Colorado.
Unfortunately my credit score is ANYTHING but good. (yeah...past mistakes and still paying for it.) and due to the nature of my work, I probably can't afford anything above 500 a month until the end of the year. If anyone needs a roommate or has a room to spare, or can offer any suggestions, please let me know. I work a 6 day week a lot of times at crazy hours. I can cook (quite well I'm told), clean and very quiet, most of time you won't even know I'm around.
So if anyone has suggestions and ideas, e-mail me or send me a message.

Re: A little help or Suggestion
Sat, June 9, 2007 - 9:24 AMouch $500 a month in the bay area is going to be a trick my friend.
If you are unable to hook up with any fellow faire folk, I found a good room mate on Craigslist. I was also able to find a room to rent for 475 a month living with her in Redondo Beach (if you can imagine). I also found deals like that in Santa Monica, Playa Del Rey etc - which are moderately high rent areas.
Craigslist has a pretty big bay area section. You should be able to find something pretty quick. You can always bunk at lesser expensive hotels too until you find something.
Also with N. Faire going on, you might be able to poke around there on a weekend if you know anyone there .... Post up a note somewhere back stage with your request and see what comes up. You never know what kind of interesting room mate you may find when you bunk with fellow faire people ..... I'm sure we all have a good story or two to tell lol

Re: A little help or Suggestion
Sat, June 9, 2007 - 12:06 PMI can't remember the name of the place but there used to be a company just off of Haight street, I think it was on Cole. Little hole in the wall kind of place. You pay a small fee then you get to look through the books at potential roommate matches. I think there are also several online sources you can check as well as Craigslist... though that was going to be my first suggestion as well.

Re: A little help or Suggestion
Mon, June 11, 2007 - 8:53 AMLook around. If you are willing to rent a room (and don't have pets) then there will be quite a few places that you can look at. Craig's list is good, but look also at the penny saver and heck, look at those stupid signs on the side of the road. I (well, Eric) paid for one of those rental lists that I found my place through and there were quite a few rooms for rent there. It was ezrentlist.com and I really recommend them...
Good luck!!! -

Re: A little help or Suggestion
Mon, June 11, 2007 - 9:22 AMI tried a couple of those rent lists that you prepay for when I lived in Redondo and Whittier. They sucked. Half the time the places were already rented by the time you got to see them. Most of the places have bankers hours which I find confusing. If you want people with jobs that pay their rent to move in - why are your office hours 9 to 5 like most of the working people.
This was the deciding factor when we moved into the apt. we are in now - they are open on Saturdays and until 6 on weekdays! -

Mon, June 11, 2007 - 9:40 AMI had a good experience with the one I used, but I also have a job where I can screw around online during the day... I found the place I'm in now through that list and let me tell you, the tub is worth it!

Mon, June 11, 2007 - 12:01 PMcheck
www.westsiderentals.com
The name is deceptive. I think it started in West L.A. and has greatly expanded and now includes Ventura, LA, Orange, San Diego, and the Inland Empire. -
