It was a sigh of relief to see taht schedule and see that BTS doesnt have much competition at that hour! My complaint is that its ONLY one hour.....WTF, High Sierra always gives most of their bands 2-3 slots (except a few headliners) However, theyre right after STS9 lets out, and I think the only competition is Keller really......Should work out pretty well! But still...only an hour? Imi sure BTS will tear that hour a new pie hole.

Another cool thing is is that a lot of people are kind of "over" Keller in that festy circut, I see a lot of people choosing to be adventurous and going for BTS that hour instead of Keller, or Keller will start first and people will get a 1/2 hour in of him and then venture over to see what all the Tahoe stoke is about. This will definitely be a set to win over many new fans. BTS, give em one hour of the Best Of !! Definitely include a Foot By Foot in that set is my suggetion.

More in from dancinbluegrass of PT. He said that the stage was really small and it wasnt loud enough, and you could hear Yard Dogs Road Show go off in the background. But people rocked it close to the stage and they had a nice crowd raging it.

Lucky for BTS the weather didnt hinder their sets. Thursday was shut down due storms, and so was tonite (Sunday) so some bands had to cancel.

I hear more reports of the lights being too bright for that hour in the tent, so the lights scared some people away. Others didnt care and raged it. Mixed reviews, more good ones than not. The only neg review was from Panda, who we all know, who has seen them do their thing at HSMF more than a few times. "It was just wierd and wasnt like Sierra Turts" Someone bought the new CD and loves the "rap cover" <<< nice! Funny, I think Gentlemans Club is the only thing i DONT really like about the new album (cadence, oh were are you cadence?) Good that they made a little dent out there it seems! I hope they faire well in Colo. with all going on this weekend! I have a feeling Thurs is going to be a hoot.

the guy on pt who bought their cd also saw them at mulberry, so he's a little familiar w/ them & what they can do (he was at that epic late night mulberry set). once bogmonkey sends me a link to the waka set, i will let you all know! :)

definitely... please do let me know when it's ready for my d/l-ing pleasure! i heard from a few people something about the lights in the tent being too bright or something? i dunno... could just be my twak-job friends doing too many extracurriculars....

how was the crowd size? were they well-received? for anyone who also saw them at mulberry, how did the two compare?

sorry for all the questions. i really wanted to be there, so just looking to live vicariously through all of you!

        bogmonkey responded:
The lights were fine as far as I could tell, and I was right up front with the rest.

The crowd was small at first but filled out nicely by the end of the set. More importantly, they had that place JUMPIN (they always do)...literally every booty in the tent was shakin.

They came off as total professionals (as always - seen em seven times now) dedicated to giving the crowd great energy.

I know several folks were there who had seen them at Mulberry, and loved em at Waka. The Waka set was WAYYYY too short, one hour is barely a tease for BTS, they were just getting warmed up.

I think they could have rated an early Sunup Stage position for sure. They are a top notch band and in my current "top three" bands touring right now. They NEVER fail to "bring the heat" at every single gig they play, ever.

Howdy all. Sorry to be so late in the post. I have been trying to get my things together for my year teaching abroad. The lights were an issue to begin with. Steve and I noticed them while they were setting up the gear. So I went back right before the set and untwisted the bulbs from the sockets to create a more dance conducive lighting enviroment. The set was great, smoking hot. Unfortunately the "mud" under the tent had more than a hint of bovinae excrement mixed in. The area under the tent was jammin' with a good sized crowd groovin' to the tunes. When I ventured outside the tent for a breath of fresh air, I noticed that there was a huge ring of people outside the tent enjoying the musick. I think that there were more than a few people being turned on to BTS for the first time. We did celebrate Xtian's b-day with a few jagerbombs, beers, and other stuff :). It was one of the best weekends I have had so far this year. It is just a shame it has to go by so damn fast. Sorry I can't come up with more particulars about the set, but I ran into some friends earlier in the evening and my mind was a bit fuzzy until the dawn's early light.
