I'm still trying to plan things out & budgeting. I will be looking for a ride share, can anybody tell me approximately how much I should expect to pitch in for gas and any existing tolls. It would be my first year, and I never drove so am clueless on the subject. Thanks!

There are some things you left out. Which airport (I'm guessing Reno)? How many you traveling with? What you driving? Where you camping (tent, rv, not)? What type of gear you bringing with you?
No toll roads in NV.

well, it is about 116 miles, give or take. so, the amount of gas depends on the vehicle. if you are riding in somebody else's vehicle, you could offer to chip in for milage, rather than just gas. 50 cents a mile covers the cost of operating (oil, maintenance, insurance) the vehicle as well as the gas. (its probably a bit higher now, with the high gas prices, but that's a nice round number.) So, figure it _costs_ $58 each way, or $116 R/T. Divide that by the number of people in the vehicle.
if you just pay for gas, figure on around 15 to 25 mpg, or 5.8 gallons on the average. 5.8 gallons x $4.50/gallon = $26 each way. Divide that by the number of people in the vehicle.
I think if you are a passenger and you offer $20 to $25 each way, most drivers will be happy, and it will cost you a lot less than renting a car or taking a cab.
