Interesting life story of the Tumble Twins.
The sisters were born in Romania. They showed great athletic promise at an early age. As such, the twins were placed in the state sponsored program for gymnastics. Training was intense and facilities were not up to western standards. Despite these and other hardships, they rose to the top. Eventually, Kilika garnered a spot on the 1984 Romanian Olympic Gymnastics Team while Koka was an alternate. While it was a great experience, neither won a medal.
Their public shame of this failure for their country and teammates was overwhelming to them. They did not want to face this at home. So they eluded their chaperones and missed the flight back.
Destitute, not knowing the language or geography of this new country, the twins eventually found themselves wandering the streets of the beautiful San Fernando Valley. Luckily, a kindly old man took them in. Fortune smiled upon them as he was a film producer. He said they had the attributes and talent to act in movies. He said these were movies for grown ups only though.
Since the first one was an art movie, they would have to take all of their clothes off. Was that OK with them? They answered, it is so cold in Romania, we always slept naked together. We would have to rub each other many times to keep warm. Also, since the team chaperones never let any boys in, we had to comfort each other. We don't really like boys anymore, we just like each other.
The producer asked them their names and what they did in Romania.
"Why, we are the Tumble Twins! We are gymnasts!"
Hearing these words, his eyes got big as saucers.
"Ladies, I am going to make you into Stars!"
And thus their legendary movie career began.
