So, just out of curiosity, where do we stand on the Green Burn Project?
Silence, are we close on the super green Bio-D?
Has anyone incorporated the colored fuels?
Does anyone have a good source for Ethyl Acetate?
And how many groups are participating?

Re: Burning Green?
Sat, May 19, 2007 - 12:21 PMLAFC is in!
We are fully integrating Bio-D, and are planning on a big EA purchase to replace our white gas usage.
Some of our members are using the colored fuels, but we don't have deep integration of them.
Best source of EA was about $80 gallon for reagent grade until the Fischer site shut down.
the only petrol use will be for fire breathing... mostly for health and safety reasons. -

Re: Burning Green?
Sat, May 19, 2007 - 4:24 PMThere is a company here in Colorado called Rocky Mountain Reagents that I work with to buy quantities of chemicals otherwise unattainable by the general public. I have a tax id for making and selling soap, so I have access to make purchases from this company. Let me know if I can help get our hands on larger quantities to make it more affordable. For now it looks like it comes in from China (of course!) and the company would have to place a large order to get it in stock.
Let me know... -

Sat, May 19, 2007 - 8:13 PMAnd see, that's actually the problem You can get reagent grade white gas too, but it's 4x the price. I'd like to get industrial or retail grade EA instead. -

So, the feds don't recognize fire spinning fuel as a legitimate fuel for the purposes of cooking ethanol. This sets us back on the super green Bio-D quite a bit. However, there are a LOT of available sources around the country on the main link.
