Just a reminder, the next big deadline for Fire Conclave is March 1st. All groups intending to spin under the man this year should notify Crimson of that fact with a rough idea of their membership.
Returning Shins know what to do.
If you are trying to form a new group, you need to contact Crimson (at) burningman (.) com and start the process. Don't worry too much if you don't hear right away, Crimson is also in charge of tickets, so she gets a little busy around this time of year.

Mon, February 11, 2008 - 3:43 AMMaybe then she has figured out a clearer process of the performers ticket application without the all the confusion from last year. Why do they classify a performers ticket the same as a "need based"? -

Re: Communicate intent
Mon, February 11, 2008 - 12:57 PMWell, yeah, when I first heard that she was planning on having groups compete for limited slots, I knew this was going to be an issue.
Previous to these last two years, you just automatically knew you'd be in the Circle, so there wasn't a question about it. You just told everyone not to buy tickets and wait for the staff level tickets to go on sale.
But now there's the possibility that a group could put in months of effort, and not get in the Conclave. It's weird.
Oh, and performers tickets are not "need based". The scholarship and need based tickets go on sale about the same time as regular tickets and just happen to be at approximately the same price point. -

Re: Communicate intent
Tue, February 12, 2008 - 8:50 PMsounds dangerous...do we really want our burningman experience to be so risky? -

Re: Communicate intent
Tue, February 12, 2008 - 9:06 PMActually, it's been the case for several years that if I had to pay for a full price ticket in July, I probably wouldn't be going to the Burn that year. I especially would feel jilted after 6 months of weekly practices, product development, and building stuff like that dragon. Fortunately, it hasn't come to that, and I know the types of groups that have been cut from the roster. We're far from that danger, so far.
