You do the hard work and the DMV does the paperwork.
Spend a little time at the DMV and you soon realize that 90% of what is being done is clerical documentation required by the permit for the event. Approximately 3000 hours are spent on and off playa by a dedicated group of around 250 volunteers in order for some to have the select and elite opportunity of a motive creative expression.
Outstanding motive creations take hard work and a talented resourceful crew. It takes far more than a brilliant wrench monkey to be successful. Mutants are a combination of multiple talents. If you don't posses them all, then look for help. The community is rich with talent.
If your application drawing or sketch looks like the work of a preschooler, how can the DMV be expected to envision your creation being much better?
Demonstrate “signs of competency” through written and visual application media. Not solely through your implied mechanical aptitude.
