Bicycles modified for motive power require pre-application and a DMV invitation for entry
The simple addition of a propulsion motor to a cart, bicycle or wheeled contraption will initiate a requirement for pre-application and a DMV invitation, in order for the vehicle to be allowed through the event gate. Stand-up two wheel scooters or "go peds" are an exception and do not require a DMV license.
If it has a motor and a seat it needs a DMV license. This allows go-peds and disallows electric or gas motorized bicycles. A go-ped also has to be light enough to pick up with one hand and only have two wheels to avoid needing a license.
Two wheeled vehicles have an inherent inability to balance at the minimal speed required of Mutant Vehicle travel.
The BLM enforces the rules for vehicle operation during the event through citation, arrest and vehicle impound. Velocity beyond 5 mph without physical effort is a primary sign for increased vehicle scrutiny by Law Enforcement.
All motorized vehicles at the event are constantly under observation by multiple local, state and federal authorities for speed, sobriety, illegal drug use and reckless operation.
