Electronics and Playa dust

Had an interesting time last yr when both of my sequencers failed. So last weekend I put 'em on the bench and tried to find out why they failed. Imagine my surprise when they both worked just fine! So I'm wondering: could plain old Playa dust have shorted them out? Could absence of same restore them to health? Or are they just made incredibly flaky?

    not likely.... the dust would stay in the unit and continue to keep if from working...

    is this an audio sequencer or lighting sequencer??
    what was the power supply to them??

    probably more heat related or power supply related... not dust related...
