It literally refers to the National Film Boards of Canada. They produce educational films, children's cartoons, etc... My grandparents were from right near the border on the St. Lawrence River in NY state and I would always get to see cartoons. They were unique...and awesome. In fact, they brought them here nationally in a program called "Oh, Canada!" on cartoon network like in the late nineties. Usually with them, if a sample didn't come from wherever they were around, it probably came from a Canadian film. I mean, none of the samples have Scottish accents so as to suggest that at least the television samples or movie sample are not indigenous, so to speak. I mean, I def. know the NFB does more than just those two things, but since I am stateside, I don't know too many other specifics. So yea, Boards of Canada is named after the National Film Boards of Canada, which is so completely awesome.
