Its the mountains. The temperatures up here fluctuate greatly even in one day. I'd prepare for 30's at night, it gets chilly no matter what. Belden is a the bottom of a canyon where all the cold air gathers

Thank goodness I need some chill right now. its been far too hot for May.

Ive been to Bobolink 3 years in a row and has NEVER gotten below freezing at night. I think that the below freezing forecast is baloney. 42 degrees at night sounds much more fathomable.

Very LOUD CAMP appropriate!

I'll keep you all warm.....

This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.that's what nacho bee is good for.....nachos and warmth.......

Belden is at about 2400 foot elevation.....it's not gonna freeze.
There was a big thunderstorm somewhere in the mountains today...but from my house it looked like it was over Mt Lassen, which is a good 40 miles from Belden... -
-
What is the river like?? Small and tame or raging??
-
-
WOOHOOOOO!!!!
The heat wave is GONE!
You know what cool weather means? MORE BOOZE!
I hear LIz that the river is pretty mellow this year. More camp spots for Loudy campy!
-
Hey Ya'll,, The Truckee River in Reno is running pretty quick because of the early warming this year. I suppose the Feather will be about the same. So, don't forget those " water wings".. and floaties !! We should all bring innnertubes and make a boat !! yeah!
-
River is tame and cold as ever. Dont worry about the weather, bring some pants and sweatshirts and you will be fine, day tie is pretty warm, specially the morning sun. Are you guys talking about real nacho cheese, because I am thinking that sounds good now
-
-
I would hesitate to ever call a river "tame". the flow also depends on when they release water from the dams. We were on the American this weekend, it seemed tame until they released water and it got really hectic. Also, even if it's not flowing tough, it could be cold enough to cause hypothermia. Just be mindful.
As for weather, I find that NOAA.gov has the best forecasts for these parts. check it out:
www.wrh.noaa.gov/forecast/MapClick.php
seems like it will be nice and yummy up there this weekend...i'm still considering coming up for a day trip.
oh yeah....f*$k you loud camp! but i will miss you this year =( -
-
Werd UP on the river even tho seeming tame, could still DROWN someone easily. Feather River is notorious for being dancgerous, even end of summer.
We'll miss the fuck you LOUD CAMPers!
-
elise, shut the F*** up, and bring me a pink taco!!! ;-)
waaaaah, no do me domers and no vigilante up??? you all will definitely bee missed this year!!! -
-
mags, mags, mags....get your pink taco at the fish stand, ya beyotch!
so...unfortunately, no DoMe crew nor Vigilantiup will be in attendance this year. we all have too much schtuff going on right now and personally, it's the end of the month and I'm one broke ass MoFo. if it were the following weekend I'd TOTALLY BE THERE SCREAMING "F#$K YOU LOUD CAMP!!!" I really hope another, scream worthy crew fills in for us =)
however, i'm really tempted to come up for the day sunday and chill by the river, trying to hear whatever tunes i can from the water. ahhhhh......
