So next weekend I am going camping. I am sooo excited! But I have a dilemma. What do I bring for food? In the past when I went camping I brought chips, bagels with cream cheese, the big costco chocolate chip muffins, cookies, basically tons of junk food. I have no idea how to pack for next weekend. I plan to bring lots of fruits and veggies to snack on. But what else can I bring that's going to be diet friendly and easy?
I also need to factor in that I'll be drinking a lot more than usual. So I need to remember those nasty calories too. :(

Re: Camping and Diets
Thu, April 24, 2008 - 10:05 AMlow-fat granola, tofu hotdogs, lay's has some great fat-free potato chips (they are made with a kind of oil that our body won't digest- kinda scary but, for me, really worth it once in a while! They are really good!), healthy sandwich stuff, apples, you could make some healthy muffins, too! Camping sounds fun! I want to go!

Re: Camping and Diets
Wed, May 21, 2008 - 11:31 AMI always take wheat tortillas (heat over fire), a can of black beans, avacado, tomatoe, cilantro and lime. Perfect veggie tacos. Peanut butter is also a great source of protein. Fish is good if you take a cooler with ice. Of course, if you're backpacking and hiking in to a location over a long distance, taking a cooler may be inconvenient. Hope you had fun!!!
