Too much exercise?

I think I am getting too much exercise. My body does not feel tired or feel "the burn" anymore. I exercise 6 days a week. I mix it up and do different things. Do I need to increase it even more to burn the calories and feel sore/tired??

    well, i would suggest increasing the intensity of your work out....if you do weights, try heavier weights or more reps. If you jog on the treadmill, up the ante and go half a mile an hour faster, or something like that.

    You can still work the same amount of time, but work HARDER.

    I don't think there is such a thing as "too much exercise"

    You may not need to increase the amount, but you may need to increase the intensity. Be aware, however, that you should increase your food intake a bit if exercising heavily. Otherwise, just as with not eating enough regularly, not eating enough to make up for *some* of what you're burning will cause your metabolism to drop because your body will go into starvation mode.

    I don't think you need to feel tired and sore to benefit your body! Cross training is great, the more variety the better for so many reasons...it sounds like you are already doing a lot of cross training...for me, the real sign that I need to put more energy into my workouts is that I feel like I am bored, or like it is just easy...I like to challenge myself, so I know that if I don't feel challenged anymore in something that was difficult in the past, I need to work harder, or change the length, or intensity...you can always modify...we think of modifying when we start out, and it is too difficult, but I modify now in Pilates, adding difficulty to the exercises...anyway, good luck, keep us posted in your progress!
