Bohemian: “A socially unconventional person; an artist or a writer.”

Mission Statement

The Bohemian Artists’ Guild is Colorado’s own eclectic mix of all types of performance artists, dancers, musicians & visual artists.

Our mission, simply put, is to never stop having the desire to create, and in doing so, letting this positivity spill over into everything and everyone we touch.

Being called by art, even defined by it, can be hard work, but it gives back by letting us be our most complete selves.

Now within the sodality and support of our guild, we will continue to be hungry for the next performance or project before the current one is even completed.

With great happiness and accomplishment, we bring you the Bohemian Artists’ Guild.

“ I dream my painting, and then I paint my dream.’ V. VanGogh

Philosophy

We came together not only out of desire for our art, but also out of a true need to be with and supported by others with the same drive and passion for art.

A common thread that bonds our little community together is our shared perseverance.

‘I am not an adventurer by choice, but by fate.’ Picasso

Being born an artist is not a choice, but a calling. Within this lies the inability to give up on our many talents, even though at times it is more painful when we stifle our creative sides. It’s like missing a limb.

‘Artists don’t get down to work until the pain of working is exceeded by the pain of not working.’ Hippocrates

For the majority of us the work that sustains us financially and our art are not one and the same; at least not yet. Though our arts to do not currently support us in the form of currency, the expressiveness and soulfulness that comes from our creativity is what feeds us spiritually and emotionally.

‘Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.’ Picasso

So, then, it is the very substance of creativity-that fire in the belly that allows us to transcend the often-felt frustration, and gives us the ability to preserve the integrity and heartfullness of our creativity.

‘While I dance, I cannot judge
I cannot hate
I cannot separate
myself from evil
I can only be joyful
and whole.’
That’s why I dance.’
Hans Bos
