Hi wonderful music lovers! I'm Ben, and I love breaks.

We just started a new weekly breaks night in the Phoenix, AZ area. This Tuesday (02/27) will be our second night. We tripled the bar's income on our first night 2 weeks ago, and we plan on keeping that happening.

If any of you kind folks are in the Phoenix Metro area (Tempe, near ASU) on a Tuesday, please drop in and say hello. If you want to spin some breaks, let me know and we'll sort out the details. Right now we aren't getting paid (other than in what we can drink), but when we prove ourselves (and the bar starts making decent money) we'll have some cash to play with.

Help The Elderly Understand Dubstep

Dudes, I'm so scared - I don't get it.

I've missed D-Step live, but downloaded a recommended CD and it left me... perplexed.

Nothing hit me in the groin or gut or head, much less above the head... it was too slow to dance to and not innovative and not horny-making or aural sex... it felt like heroin... to slow, not very complex, elevator going down!

When I hear D-Step I think of lucite tanks in Vegas, where 'mermaid' showgirls swim around android-smiling, with dolphins, before Celine Dion comes onstage.

Please explain.

Breaks - in one second I was transported. The INSTANT I first heard it.

(D & B - honestly, to me this blows. TO ME. I know you most of you disagree. SNARE DRUM sound and vibe to go up and down in chakras to feel euphoric, connected yet sexual - NO WAY. Tweaker music - not too deep, not too slow; faster faster, go on - jab those arms like hungry insects! Just my opinion... BUT I understand it; not DS)

About WAVEWHORE

Wavewhore is an American DJ, producer, remix artist, musician and visual artist. He was born in Madrid, Spain and has lived in the United States since 1983.
With his recent releases on high profile record labels such as Broke and Electrofly, his Audio Tactics Recordings imprint, and a Sullivan Room residency in New York City, Wavewhore is quickly gaining a reputation as one to watch in the international breakbeat community. Wavewhore began his musical career playing heavy metal guitar in several bands which toured the New York City area. During that time, he was also experimenting with electronic music and in 1992, Well Primed Records released 'The Thorazine Stretch Factor', a CD compilation featuring his first electronic composition titled "Voodoo".

In 2001, Wavewhore founded the Audio Tactics audio production house and event promotions company. Soon after, his "Bulletproof" drum'n'bass track was featured in a film documenting the New York City d'n'b scene titled 'Prohibited Beatz'. In 2004, Wavewhore signed with Electrofly Records and "Breakin' The Law" was released on vinyl in May 2005. A Political Party That'll Make You DANCE on Friday - 11/10!

Ninja Skillz really wanted to throw a post-election party in an effort to try to get out the vote today (offering a free drink w/ ballot stubs). Democracy should be fun! We're doing a whole politically themed event with DJs as political candidates and patriotic campaign decor. It's going to be all tag-team DJ sets (debates) and we have grabbed some of our DJ friends that aren't usually heard in our circles (to give a voice to the underrepresented!)

Anyway, vote for Mark Zabala, watch my 3-way debate, and take dirty politican photos with me =D

Oh yeah, and if you come, we'll sign you up for the Spundae guestlist because our ninjas Saynt and Sammy Bliss are playing there the following day. Come early and carpool because Hollywood on friday nights can be difficult.
