Bodhrán Workshop with Kip Ruefle Columbus Ohio 10-10-10

A limited number of drums will be provided.

Kip Ruefle is a versatile musician and teacher with decades of experience on
drum kit and percussion. He has performed and recorded many styles with various
bands over the years. Along with drum kit, Kip specializes in a variety of
ethnic hand percussion (including congas, bongos, djembe, doumbek and tabla )
and bodhrán. He was a founding member of Pittsburgh PA's first Samba Batacuda,
"Timbeleza". He is a regular attendant at local Irish Music Sessions and drum
circles. His favorite bodhrán players are Johnny “Ringo” McDonagh, Jim
Sutherland, Junior Davey and John Joe Kelly.
Kip is a regular contributor to many of the online bodhrán sources such as
www.Bodojo.com and the Bodhrán Yahoo Group. He also has many bodhrán performance
and instructional videos available on Youtube at www.youtube.com/nchune
Kip's innovative bodhrán playing can be heard on the latest CD releases by
Devilish Merry (Water and Vines) and Callán (Road to Fort Duquesne), both
available on iTunes , Amazon and via their websites ( www.devilishmerry.net
and www.callanceltic.com). He also has contributed bodhrán to local Pittsburgh Celtic
ensemble "Molly in the Crowd" as well as unplugged rockers “Moonlight Motel”
Kip is available for group and individual instruction and also has taught for
Pittsburgh's Calliope School of Folk Music.
