this place is bizarre....
not in the way you might presume. The efforts of Capitalism and Globalization have succeeded here and the essence of the money making machine reeks out of every crevice in this place......English is the "national" language every square block contains an abundance of westernized convienences...they have trumped the preliminary vision of capitalism and expanded the thesis....in other words, they do it "better" then we do.....they have excelled at the imperialistic art of moneymaking that we imposed upon the world. Oh yes the downfall of American dominance is soon to be seen. This place is overwhelmingly wealthy, like the beverly hills of south asia.....went walking through the streets after my arrival from my flight at 2:30 am, not a soul or cigarette butt in sight, the streets are so clean you could lick the neatly arranged tiles of sidewalk, I swear. wide boulevards for pedestrians, commercialism at its finist, bars and malls open until two am for your shopping and drinking pleasure. I'm torn though the indulgent part of my loves this, but there is a sad place in my heart that mourns because of the absence of antiquity and the barren void of diversity which must have reigned supreme here not too long ago. People from all over the world converge here to make money, and I do believe that is this countries function....However I have only been here for 15 hours........so perhaps this jem of industry and business has some tricky surprises up its sleeve for me.
