Dan'is delayed Beatle post put to mind somthing my friends mother always said when she asked if she could have her allownace early...."you'll thank me later". Others include;
"That's the way it goes"
"Thank you for shopping at Safeway"
"Better play it safe"
"Three strikes and you're out"
"third time lucky"
Am i boring you yet?
Some more:
"it ain't over till it's over"
"the early bird gets the worm"
"new and improved"
"we'll beat any other offer"
I'm sure there are so many more that are even more boring!

Re: dull cliche phrases
Tue, February 28, 2006 - 11:11 AMI have a german shephard mix, she has a long shout. I don't like it when she licks me. I think dog slobber is nasty. She has really cute ears, and I love to pet them. They make me happy.
She hardly ever barks. More often than not she'll just "uuuf" under her breath, to let me know about something. Sometimes she barks at the neighbour's cat, but it's pretty rare. She also barks in dispair when I move my rabbit's cage around, like from in the house to outside. She thinks the bunny is her baby, and is afraid I'll take her away or something. The way that dog carries on, you'd think I was beating her. -

Re: dull cliche phrases
Tue, February 28, 2006 - 3:24 PMI have a Standard Poodle, Yetta, and she has a very long snout. I like dog kisses, as long as they aren't excessive. I just hate it when I get a surprise kiss while I'm talking. I have a little white bichon frise, and he is nicknamed Sneaky Bad because he sneaks everything. Including sneaky kisses, which we call 'ham smacks' because it is like being smacked with a deli thin sliced piece of ham. Sometimes, Sneaky Bad surprises me with a kiss that lands right inside of my mouth. I think that's just too gross.
Yetta kisses are fine. She barks at squirrels and anyone she sees out the window. The neighbors have an apartment on the top floor, and the guy uses the fire escape to go in and out. That makes Yetta very angry, and she is a scary barker. When we got little Harvey, she became very possessive. He was a bit older, and barks at other dogs. So now my well mannered Yetta flips out if Harvey barks. He is a smart little dog, and gives just one or two quiet barks now to get her going. Then she gets in trouble. I think he likes it. She is the alpha dog, so it's how he gets revenge. I swear I am not making that up. Harvey is a very smart dog. And a very naughty dog, too. -

Re: dull cliche phrases
Thu, March 2, 2006 - 2:27 PMBehold the Monkey Pigeon (Cebus Patagioenas)
Known to Native Americans for centuries, it was first studied in Kansas in 1876. It is most commonly known as the terrifying flying monkey, from the beloved children's book "The Wizard of Oz" by L. Frank Baum.
Contrary to the frightening image portrayed in the book, the Monkey Pigeon is a shy and peaceful animal, eating mostly grubs and field grasses. They burrow for shelter, and it is believed their wings evolved as a safety measure to get away from land predators. There aren’t many places to escape to on the prairie.
The Monkey Pigeon doesn’t do well away from its society, and has never been kept in captivity for longer than two months. A captive Monkey pigeon will loose it’s will to live and die.
