Now that the razzamatazz(to be avoided!) of the "holiday season "is over, I hope each and every one of you will do all in your power to stay true to the D & U ethos in the coming year..Hopefully some of you even managed to maintain them even during all the festivities, even if it meant hiding. . For my part, I managed to leave a bar before midnight on New Years eve in order to be home before all the merriment & excitement broke out.

Re: Please remember to keep 2008 safe and boring
Mon, January 14, 2008 - 11:40 AMWhile there were people at my house (I have housemates, so it's unavoidable) we did nearly forget to check the time. At one point, someone announced"Five minutes 'til midnight.", but then someone else said, "Actually, it's already a minute past." So we all looked at each other and said, rather flatly, "Oh, well."
Very anti-climactic. -

Fri, January 25, 2008 - 2:25 AMOh, I am glad you put the year number up in the title. I keep thinking it is still nineteen hundred and frozen to death.

Re: Please remember to keep 2008 safe and boring
Fri, January 25, 2008 - 4:43 AMmuch to my dismay, i was at a very large and exciting party on NYE. i certainly did my best to bring the drab and dull. i watched my clock roll over to midnight and made my escape away from the cheers and merriment that erupted an entire 2 minutes late. life has since dulled back down to its usual pace. phew. once classes start next week, life will grind to an even slower crawl as my world becomes entirely consumed with my thesis.
