Message from wagner of burningtruck:
//----
Ok, so, here we are. Container 1 is sold out. Container 2 is about 10
shares short of being sold out. In order for container 2 to happen we
need to raise ~$3900 by July 30th. I have not worked the final numbers
and precessed all the paypal and checks I have received, so it may be a
bit more or a bit less. The simple solution would be for everyone to pay
about $75 more per share. The better solution would be to sell the
remaining 10 shares. There is really no time for fund raising, etc. since
I need to pay for the containers on August 1. Thoughts and ideas are
appreciated. I do not want to cancel the second container because that
screws many of you. So....we need more cash.

As part of my quest to hand off the burningtruck project to a team of top notch hippies this year, I will host a formal question and answer and learn about what is involved in making it all happen session at the Cambridge Brewing Company this Tuesday, March 11, during the meet and greet. I will be there to discuss this between 8 and 9 pm.

My current plan is to find a group of 4-7 people who will work together to continue this project into the future.

The primary roles that need to filled are:

1. Web site maintenance and community communication (1 person)
This involves updating the web site, sending out spam to mailing lists, and telling people to read the container guide when they ask you dumb questions.

2. Finances (1 person)
This involves accounting, tracking share sales, payments, and harassing non-paying shareholders, check cashing, paypal tracking, and eventually doing a large wire transfer to the logistics company.

3. Logistics coordination (1 person)
This involves being the point person for the logistics company and staying in contact with the logistics people while the load goes out to Gerlach.

4. Loading and unloading management (2-3 people per container)
This involves dealing with the loading and unloading, scheduling, etc.

I would like to have this crew working together within the next month.

So, yeah, show up, ask questions. Take on some responsibility. If you are lucky, people will reward you in some very surprising ways on playa.

The containers will happen again...one more time since I can' think of a
good reason not to.

As always, things change. Shares will cost you a bit more this year,
maybe $25 more...I'm negotiating with the rail company now.
The fuel surcharge is higher than ever.

I'm in need of someone willing to take on some management responsibility,
mainly of container number two(load in on both ends). Contact me off list
if you are interested. You must be stubborn, willing to yell, and good at
getting others to lift heavy things for you.

The web site is getting some updates, so consider everything on there lies
until May 5.

Here is the 2007 burningtruck schedule:

May 5:
Container shares go on sale
June 30:
Container share sales end
August 11:
Container prep, move shelves out of storage, repair shelves, install rails
August 12:
Container Loading
August 23:(tentative)
Container on playa
September 2,3:
Container loading on playa
September 15:
Unload containers, clean out, store shelf materials
After party TBA

Forward everywhere.

You know the drill.
