Re: Cravan Thought for the Day
Sat, June 10, 2006 - 9:57 PMthink so? I like to dream it spontaneously and unpretentiously.. but not merely for amusement. "Great care" implies an overly cautious and rigidlly premedititated approach in my opinion...but you go ahead and use as much care as you see fit.....Did Cravan abandon his pregnant wife...or was he just washe dout to sea by a giant wave? -

I like amusement...but I also think great care is important IN amusement...
for example it is not usually a good idea to stand up while riding a roller ceauster, yet it can be "amusing" if you take the obvious precautions. Eating blowfish *may* be amusing but is it safe and furthermore does it taste good?
Okay, yes it does, I had it in Japan.....but I was a guest a- and when in ROME...I DID NOT DIE either.
I take some risks here and there.
At times they have been foolish, at times I have been hurt.
I try to be careful and cautious in my interactions with other.
Wine tends to make me have poor judgement but I drink it just the same because it tastes excellent and it is worth the risk.
How by the way does one DREAM pretentiously??
I think I'd like to try it one day.
It could be a bit risky, but one day when I have had a glass of wine and am feeling wild and spontaneous...
As for Cravan, I think he was probably very unpretentious, just an eccentric big man with eccentric big dreams.

Re: Cravan Thought for the Day
Sun, June 11, 2006 - 11:36 AMHmm. I believe the "great care" that Cravan refered to was related to maximizing the experience. He tended to live his live in extremes and I believe he did so with great forethought that may have looked spontaeneous or improvised but was, in fact, carefully choreographed.
Did he abandon Mina Loy? Well, no one will ever know if he ran away or really had every intention of meeting her at the other end. However, his love for Mina Loy was known to be quite passionate and deep as was her's for him.
