walmart is suing a disabled former employee for 470,000 in medical benifits because she has recently won a lawsuit against the trucking company that caused her car wreck. she now has brain damage and lives in a nursing home her husband works 2 jobs to pay the bills and their son died in iraq last year the amount walmart wants is even more than she got from the lawsuit. I say that everone should write letters and emails to walmart and let them know they cannot treat people this way and know that we know how heartless they can be there should be a nationwide boycott of walmart untill they leave this poor woman alone. in every town there are plenty of other stores we can shop at and if they get enough sales then they might be able to lower their prices to match walmarts.

well, Wal-Mart just admitted they were wrong in this case, so that means that they're actually an OK company that does everything right.

just kidding, it took a massive nagative PR effort to get them to reverse that decision; they just thought noone was paying attention!

That's true, but I think it's unfortunate that Wal-mart was forced to forego what they were legally entitled to. Recouping the money that the insurance company fronted is a standard (and legal) insurance procedure that is written into virtually every policy out there. Yeah, it's great that that family got paid twice for the same thing- good for them. I call that extortion via media.

Good for you! I just find it laughable that others can't boycott Walmart and leave it at that. Uneducated histrionics always make me chuckle, especially when people don't realize that it's free enterprise and capitalism that they're really against, rather than Wal-mart. I have no particular affection for Wal-mart, but i am a fan of low-prices and (more so) convenience.

No one makes anyone work or shop there; it's all about the choices people make to do so. Reminds me of when I worked as a dishwasher at a restaurant. It sucked for the 11 days I worked there. I chose to move on to jobs that paid better and didn't suck as much or in the same way. Did I need more education or training? Yes. Did I figure out ways to get and pay for it myself? Yes. Am I in any way special or gifted? Lol, yeah, right.

So, no, I don't have a lot of sympathy for the folks in the blue vests. Life is tough...be tougher! Shop at wherever you need to in order to get by. Do what it takes to thrive, or enjoy the alternatives you suffer by default.
