Divine Union Thru Tantra or Celibacy

Tantra yoga seek to find union with the Divine through the spiritual and divine use of sexuality. It seeks to use sexual energy as a means of attaining self mastery. Tantric yoga philosophy believes that one can achieve the same result through celibacy or sexual union. It is the spiritual science of learning to raise sexual energy up the chakras while actually making love with your partner or spouse.

Tantric yoga believes that sexual energy must be controlled, mastered and utilized and not run away from. Sexuality is seen as a sacred energy and is used, but under the guidance of the soul and not the lower self.

In my book on "Soul Psychology" I have dedicated an entire chapter to this subject, so I will not repeat myself here. It is suffice to say, however, that this type of yoga, in my opinion, is a form that almost all the people on this planet need to come to terms with.

Tantra yoga provides a midpoint between the two extremes of celibacy, and being run by the carnal lower self in this regard. Tantra yoga is the spiritual science of how to properly utilize your sexual energy in service of God. Many of the Eastern traditions and fundamentalist religions make sexuality out to be a bad thing, which just isn't true. When used properly it can accelerate your path of God realization.

I appreciate your articles on the subject. I have been working on practicing Bhakti Yoga & Mantra to help re-direct Sexual energy.
The challange I find, is that when I isolate myself from recieving any contact from feminine touch. I can easily rebel & build up dualalistic conscousness insted of the union!
It is nice to experience the energy of a Woman whom are Flowing & yet in control of their energy.
What is keeping us in bondage in this world is the consciousness of exploitation & dry renunciation. The path of Suddha Prema (Pure love) is where we are in the spirit of dedication & can radiate Selfless service to all creation.....
The need for us as a species to refine & raise our sexual energy is imperative at a time of gloal crisis...All Spiritual practices in essence are a tranceformation of our Sexual Shakti through the various limbs of yoga.

      >>" What is keeping us in bondage in this world is the consciousness of exploitation & dry renunciation."

YOU ARE EXACTLY RIGHT! IT IS IMPORTANT TO HAVE RIGHT THOUGHTS IN ORDER TO BE FREE OF BONDAGE. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RAISE ENERGY UPWARDS IF YOU ARE IN DRY RENUNCIATION AND SUPRESSING YOUR SEXUALITY, YOU WILL ALMOST ALWAYS INDULGE IN 2ND CHAKRA RELEASE. IT IS VITAL TO LEARN HOW TO TRANSMUTE IT INSTEAD OF SUPRESS IT.

THERE IS NO NEED TO STOP TOUCH OR WARM HUGS WITH THE OPPOSITE SEX, HUMAN TOUCH IS IMPORTANT, ALL ANIMALS CRAVE IT AND YOU SEE IT IN PETS WHEN THE COME TO YOU AND LAY DOWN ON THEIR BELLIES SO YOU CAN PET THEM! IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT CONCIOUSNESS HOWEVER, IT COULD LEAD TO OVERINDULGENCE IN IN LOWER 2ND CHAKRA RELEASE, ITS ALL A PROCESS...

          Repression vs. Renunciation
If you renounce eating a certain food or doing a certain activity but think about it all the day long it is not true renunciation. Renuncition is not really the act of giving up action but begins with giving up the desire for action and the fruits of those action
this would be in alignment with the teachings of the Bagavad Gita.

            hmmm
I have to say that renunciation is quite effective

I beleive that each soul has a different karmic imprint though and ones who are not suppose to renunciate will find different ways to chanell the kundalini

I have to agree with Krishna,
renuinciation is not the same as repression

its like going to a cave to meditate but the mind thinks about eating and drinking and doing things with others non stops

I think even when a person is a renunciate thoughts about different activities even sexual ones can come up but they pass ,
if this doest go away and if it is too difficult to contorl the thoughs and it takes more energy to be a renunciate then to be sexualy active
then its a sign that it is not the right path for that individual
            the world of Tantra
            is a whole different chapter

          karmendriyani samyamya
          ya aste manasa smaran
          indruiyarthan vimudhatma
          mithyacarah sa ucyate

"One who restrains the senses and organs of action, but whose mind dwells on sense objects, certainly deludes himself and is called a pretender" Bhagavad Gita 3-6

          yas tv indriyani manasa
          niyamyarabhate'rjuna
          karmendriyanaih karma yogam
          asaktah sa visisyate

"On the other hand, he who controls the senses by the mind and engages his active organs in works of devotion, without attachment, is by far superior" Bhagavad Gita 3-7

To me these two verses describe the difference between repression and renunciation. The first is a description of repression. Where one is not endeavoring to control the mind. The second is a description of renunciation, the essense of which is to engage everything is Krsna's service.
