plans for 2007... ;)

as everyone knows we have a half dozen sociable tandem rickshaws in storage.

my current thinking is that unless i can deploy all of them together as a 'taxi microcamp' (this will cost about $1000), it makes more sense to partner again with other artists and camps to come up with creative uses.

i talked a while ago with space cowboys about using the trailers as human-pulled speaker platofrms. i also recently talked to blue from recycling camp about expanding their use of a rickshaw last year to create a very effective mobile recycling collector. previously, they've used shopping carts pulled by a single bike, the platform they built with the rickshaw collects as much as 10 bicycles more quickly (and safely).

so i will likely share with them 3-4 rickshaws, 2 to space cowboys if they want them (i just love the idea of creating some backing sound around the unimog - a wireless/powered solution would be really cool). i'll take 2 and likely be with ByB if they'll have me. i would also like to use a platform for something else, like a mobile bicycle 'ER' for ByB...

i also may make arrangements to long-term store the rickshaws up in gerlach.

if anyone has suggestions or is interested in helping this year please let me know.

i am also interested in networking with other rickshaw users at or outside of the event.

thanks so much!
