Greetings from Italy!!!

For this particular update, I have decided to type out one of my journal entries.

Journal entry on April 10th, 2007
Location: Italy (on top of mountain in val grande)
Journal entry reads: Oh my god! What to say...I have to start from the begining. So we arrive at Elle (jesse,s girlfriend) parents house, and it was like a dream. Awaiting us was beautiful table on a 2nd story porch with the most wonderful food I have ever tasted. There was salad (salata), three different types of the most delicious cheese you can imagine, fresh warm bread, a vegetarian pizza pie with spinache & cheese that her mom made especially for me because I dont eat meat, some of the best wine I have ever tasted, and another italian dish made with cheese, potatoes, and eggs. (side note: little did I know there was a normal day meal and there was many more to come, including breakfast with best caffe lattes of my life) The dinner was amazing and we fiested! Then we found our way to the most comfortable bed and slept for 16hours, as we had been traveling over a span of 24 hrs with little sleep.

(this journal entry to be continued...up next: story of the 4 days in the wilderness on top of a mountain)

I leave for venice in 4 hours, wish me luck!

Love to all who are dearly missed
(especially the mrrow mrrows!)

    the rest of the story...
(skipping ahead later in this entry)

Today the most beautiful adventure began. We borrowed Elle's mom's car and drove 1 and a half hours outside Arona (2 and a half outside Mulan) to a magical place in the mountains. We geared up with backpacks full of food, clothes, water, and bedding for 4 days in the wilderness. We hiked for 4 hrs, up and down through nountains and cliffs. It was so beautiful! Invgorating mentally and physically for the mind, bidy, and soul. We passed waterfalls and streams, valleys and cliffs. We saw tons of lizzards and old ruins of houses made from rocks. The hike ended at the top of a high mountain with a view that is inexpliccable, its somethng ou have to experience to truly understand its beauty. We are staying in a little rock cabin, abd it reminds me od a hobbit home. It feels like I stepped into a time machine and m living 100 yers ago. There is well where we fish out water with a bucket and then boil to drink. There is a wood stove in the kitchen that we chop wood and cook upon. There is little ladder that eads to loft upstairs where we sleep. No words can explain a place like this; so mysterious. It is a whole village made os rocks, and if you look accross the valley to the other mountain, you see a another town, perchered upon a cliff, it seems impossible to get there.

(the following morning) Journal entry on April 12th, 2007

This morning we awoke and made french toast. I grabbed a blanket and stood on top of the mountain and did ode to the sun (yoga) on top of the most amazing mountain top. The veiw is breathtaking. There is a peacefulness here beyond words. I don't think I've experienced a place so beautiful. It is sunny and warm with a cool breeze that caresses the skin and soothes the soul. There are birds chirping in the trees. Off in the distance I can hear the river flowing through the valley. I hear jesse chopping wood for tonights warmth. I am surrounded by ghuge, tree filled mountains and a clear blue sky with white puffs of clouds. The sun warms and comforts me. This place is so healing. I treasure this place and experience as one I will never forget. The rock village we are camping at is so interesting. I can't help but to wonder about the community that once thrived here. But now it is quiet, calm, and abandoned. There are trees full of green and white blossums that are scattered around the village. Such a magical place...no tourist usually gets an exprience like this...

    Side note
So as you can tell that was amazing. I just got back from venice, I will write about that next. Oh how I LOVED venice...

Love to all who are missed
I will be seeing you soon

I'm soo happy for (with) you!

When you get back we need to get a gang together around a campfire and you can tell your tales as a storyteller of old

If you get me a fax number, I will try to fax myself there ;-)

Have fun! (or should I say..., more fun)
