Re: Facilites
Sat, August 6, 2005 - 1:12 PMI love Breitenbush-- is one of the best retreat places avail in the NW, in my opinion. Each meadow pool is unique and special, lined with rocks; the four tubs, which are emptied and refilled twice daily if I'm recalling correctly, are in a beautiful location and are set up in a clover-leaf design-- with each tub at a progressively higher temp.-- and there is one cold plunge tub, as has been mentioned. There is a cold shower tap right there in the tub area also, if the plunge is too daunting.
The library is such a great touch to the place. There are many places to just sit and be. The flowers, the landscape-- I like the beauty of Breitenbush.
The workshops that occur there seems to be of quality (I haven't been to many). And there is a Watsu massage pool-- at least there was last time a was there.
Seems to me good people gravitate there. Breitenbush certainly has it's own unique feel. No vehicles are allowed in the interior... carts are provided for transporting items to and from the cabins and tent areas. So when you walk the grounds, it remains peaceful.

Re: Facilites
Wed, September 28, 2005 - 9:27 PMThe steam sauna is world class and powered by, yup, you guessed it - hot springs! Outside it is a clawfoot tub you can fill with fresh cold water for that plunge.
the 3rd meadow pool is supposed to be silent
clothing optional in all the bathing areas, but not the lodge and parking areas.
I like to lay along the edge of the 1st pool, prop my foot on a dew lined tree, and wiggle it for a nice refreshing springlage of cool down. Ahhhhh....

Re: Facilites
Thu, January 5, 2006 - 4:20 PMI guess the next question is the cost. So, for those of us who must venture 1,000 miles, how much am I likely to spend on a winter weekend? -

Re: Facilites
Thu, January 5, 2006 - 4:41 PMIt cost $76.00 a night per person for me in November. Everything was included. It was mid-week and off-peak when I was there.
I would check out their web site:

Re: Facilites
Thu, March 9, 2006 - 5:51 PMall of the costs are on the website. or in their brochure. I think the cheapest is when you stay in the lodge, $65 per night which includes all of the well-being programs and 3 scrumptious meals. cheaper to camp in the summer :) or stay nearby and just do day-use which is sliding scale $12-15 for the day without meals. But Widget, if you make it up there, let me know and I'll figure something special out for ya :)
