some reading from a post of a SA belly friend i've made over the internet. Like her post, i worry that any of us could forget to protect our spines and have to pack it in instead of dancing till the end. Tail bones down ladies, Hugs nix.

Re: Dancing and lower back
Mon, December 31, 2007 - 5:02 AMpain is the best symptom. I find that when my posture is wrong, when I am at a party or walking around in high heels I will notice within 30 minutes and know exactly what to do!
Make sure that when you do get the pain in the lower back, the last thing you want to do is curve your back in a ball and reach with your hands to the floor. It seems like you are stretching out your lower back but actually you put even more strain on it!! Best thing to do is just tuck the pelvis under more than you would normally do in normal dance position rather than leaning forwards. or you can bend through your knees and while tucking pelvis under but keeping the back up straight!
