Mr. Danny East has left the BOM. There, it's official. The official reason? We'll use the tried and true "creative differences", we wish him all the success he is due in his next musical and acting endeavors. We'll play the next 3 shows with Alan Glickenhaus, and Bruce Warner. Bruce is back after the BOM have settled down and are not playing so many out of town shows. Bruce is building in his private massage practice and no other job takes as much time as the one he loves. Then it's off to "Sabatical Island" where there aren't so many BOM shows, maybe none, but I'll keep the website going and keep you buds up to date on what we are doing in our individual musical journies. I'll try to thank all the "fifth buds of may", please let me know if I forgot any! This is a huge fucking list!

String Cheese Explosion

Great show Saturday. As I told Wendy, "The best concert, by far, that I saw that day."

If you all don't see me until November it is because I am constucting a big neon insect puppet of my own design, in my garage.

Now for today's story;
My cousin Greg called me this morning, saying, "God told me to call you. Every time I went to the restroom at the Cheese show, I kept seeing Buds of May flyers neatly folded and stuck above the facilities in the bathroom." Whether or not Greg actually saw the big G that night is his business, but I realized that being of similiar build, we were on the same beer cycle, only he was about 5 minutes behind me and my savvy water-closet marketing campaign last night.

Moral of story; Always keep an eye upward for airborne predators, (100,000 years of evolution has rinsed this important rule from our genetic memory,) but always keep an eye backwards for friends who can help you out along the way. A saber-toothed cat could be up there, and you may need a shove from the rear. Or at least a buddy who can run slower than you.

The POINT is: good to see you all last night.

A Benefit for the White Bird Clinic and The Oregon Food Bank

Come join us at the Visitors Center for an afternoon of mingling amongst friends and groovin to some great tunes all for a great cause. Music will be provided by the Buds of May with special guest and MC Asher Fulero. Bring your friends and start the day off right. "When it's right it's right"

Where: Lucky's Eugene, 933 Olive Street
When: Saturday August 5th, 12:30pm-5:00pm
Why: Cause spreadin' the love is the right thing to do.

Admission is a $5 dollar suggested donation and two canned food items, but no one will be turned away. Please bring typical non-perishable food items. The hungry families of Oregon thank you in advance!!

We will have a self serve taco bar with a veggie option going during the first set and and an ice cream sundaes during the second set. This food will be for a nominal fee benefitting the charities.

As of now minors are not permitted, so Megan will be arranging party day care at the Mars Motel. Please contact her at mwhizzy@comcast.net if you are in need of this service or would like to help by taking a shift.

No outside alcohol please. We are negotiating a drink special with the venue now. One on beer and one on a tasty cocktail. The venue is opening special for us so lets support them too.

If there is enough interest we can do a pool tourney too. Please email me if you would want to take part in this.

July 1st show ride needed

My girls will not be able to spend July 4th with thier daddy because he's off to Montana with the Buds for some shows. This is thier last show in Oregon till they get back and it's up at trout lake with camping and/or rooms. We'd like to camp ourselves if anyone could give us a ride to and from. We are one adult with 2 children who are incredibly well behaved. Even if you can't fit us in your car you should go check the show out I'm sure it will be great. We want to go a lot so if anyone could take us we could pitch in on gas. Thanks!
