Re: BURNcast #064 - NYC Decom
Tue, November 13, 2007 - 12:00 PMI've been having problems with some of the Burncasts... as I play them on my iPod, some of them just totally flub out partway through. It's like a record skipping, and I can't play them any further than a particular point. Has anyone else complained of this problem, or is it something on my end?
This happened with #64, also the Reno411, the interview of Pincus of Tribe, and Gigi L'Amour of B.E.D

Wed, November 14, 2007 - 11:56 PMHi Supernova,
Can you try downloading #64 directly, and see if the issue persists?

Does this issue happen with the .mp3s?

Re: BURNcast #064 - NYC Decom
Thu, November 15, 2007 - 9:06 AMOk, so I downloaded it directly from this link... and about 3 minutes into it, it just pooped out and stopped! I tried it again, same thing. (When I listened on my iPod, it pooped out about 3/4 of the way through).
But the MP3 version seems to be totally fine.

Thu, November 15, 2007 - 10:28 AMHow are you placing it on your iPod? Through iTunes? If so, do the same issues happen when you play the file in iTunes?
Which version of iTunes?
If not iTunes, what software are you using to transfer the file to the iPod?
Windows or Mac? Version? -

Thu, November 15, 2007 - 1:39 PMOn the topic:
I love-loved-loved this week's episode! those true mirrors really are emotionally disarming.
The creepy hug guy was soooooo funny! I love it when art and performance embraces humor in such a delightful way! I want to do a rebuttal to him: a 60 second or so audio piece from a character of mine that I like to call "Perv Sweat". What do you thing, DaBomb? -

Thu, November 15, 2007 - 2:31 PMMister Jellyfish, I have to say I'm a fan. When you groveled in a German accent "please, please, we love the ovenmitts, but send us some vodka and tang! We love you Kernel Killbuck!" I was cracking up. There was something about the breathy, desperate plea that really touched me... -

Thu, November 15, 2007 - 9:29 PMThanks, Super. It was fun to deliver up a theme camp with that homage to Killbuck and the placers had the grace to plant us right next door to him! Who do you camp with? -

Re: BURNcast #064 - NYC Decom
Fri, November 16, 2007 - 9:06 AMI camped with Dhyan's Green Monkey this last year, which was my first Burn, but don't hold that against me, cuz as soon as I got there I felt totally at home. :) I definitely didn't feel like a virgin, I just hadn't "arrived" yet.
My camp was a yoga camp, but that didn't stop anybody from having bloody mary's for breakfast or taking various substances. So much for the clean yogi way! Anyway, we were very very close to the Roller Disco... my Burning Man experience included 24 hours a day of rip roarin' disco music fun! Screw techno! Disco is where it's at. Anyway, it was a great view, just a tiny bit back from the Esplanade. -

Sat, November 17, 2007 - 8:47 PMSweet and sassy! I love The Godfather at BRRD! He's got a funky side too! I felt the same way at my first burn. Coming home is a beautiful thing. If Burning Man did not exist we would eventually find each other and create it, yes?
Hey, DaBomb, I e-mailed Perv Sweat's audio rebuttal to Johnathon's creepy hug interview. It's in your Love and Rockets box. Let's have a creep off!

Re: BURNcast #064 - NYC Decom
Thu, November 15, 2007 - 2:35 PMOk, well first off, if I'm the *only* person complaining about this problem, then maybe it's just a weird glitch on my iPod or my computer??
But here are the stats: I'm using iTunes 7.5, and running Windows XP Professional.
I download through iTunes, then transfer it to my iPod through iTunes....
So, this has happened with a few other Burncasts. I tried (with another episode) deleting it from my computer and iPod, then redownloading the Burncast... and much to my dismay, it would poop out at the exact same spot in the episode.
But so far, it's only been a few that have done this.
