Hi,

Our theme camp needs a new email discussion forum (Listserv?). It needs to be free and handle at least 100 members. We want to be able to share photos, files and other posts without approval, but new members need to be approved. We want individual posts to go to members email, but a digest mode would be nice.

It needs to be VERY easy to use

What's the cool, new, uber-groovy way to do this?

Thanks for the help!

Ray

It's by no mean uber-cool and new, but lots of camps use Yahoo groups.

Yep, yahoogroups does all that (for the last ten years that I know of).

If it's too uber cool I tend to avoid it : ).

Our theme camp communicates private things in a google group, while we open up the process of community to the rest of Tribe right here, and pick up good mojo from people outside the camp...helpful tips and ideas, too. I'm just not too thrilled about the interface with google. Just a preference thing, I guess....** shrugs**

Yahoo groups are great for organizing a regional burn, and I think it'd also be good for a Theme Camp.

The whole point of it all from my wierd-assed perspective is that planning a burn, a theme camp, or an event is just like playing a good team sport. You've GOT to keep the chatter going. Don't hold in what you're thinking. Just as in the sport of football you clue your wide receiver in that the free safety is in a particular neighborhood of the field, you suggest to others ideas about ANYTHING.

My theme camp has had 'rolling provisioning' for the people who have early arrival. Say they forget something. They get on the phone and call others in the camp list to bring it to them. Last year, I brought in an extra Rubbermaid garbage can, a shovel, and a pair of toothbrushes. (I can't tell you the wierd and depraved acts committed with any of the three items - camp secret!)

Hah Rhino! Given the constituent ingredients, I can reverse engineer anything : ).

            Pervert! :-)

Actually, Sas...not all that much a secret. The toothbrushes were for two people who had forgotten theirs (!), the shovel was to bury a powerline into the camp, and the trash can was for the MOOP effort. We scored GREEN, btw.

(wondering what sas would do if I added a bag of ice cubes to the previous list)
