So yeah, I have sooo many fun ideas for this but right now I'm planning for a weekend in July....... this would be something where peeps would be arriving all day Fri or Sat, setting up camp and hopefully getting a lil bit of sleep before waking up the next morning early and getting on the river!!!! floating all day and arriving quite toasted at camp, sleep it off and leave the next day (either a Sun or Mon)
I will find us the most bestest location/river and will harrass em for the best group deal/rate......
I'm thinking either the weekend of the 14th - 16th or the following weekend 21st - 23rd
please let me know if there are other things going on during these dates already.... I think this is going to be fun!!!

I am going to do a BM fundraiser for a village sometime around then I think but my dates are not firm at all and just starting to conceptualize it. The first weekend in july is something. going on (secret fire near champagne-urbana psy retreat). The chicago regional ends the weekend of the 23rd i believe (will check date if ya want) but that is a whole week long event so unsure how many people would go to it since it is usually in kentucky.

Me I don't think I wanna have to keep track of the 4 (she will be 4! oh my gawd!) year old on the river while I'm getting drunk..... I mean enjoying nature. But I went on plenty of super fun floating trips when I was a kid with the family and well my family likes to drink on the river.... I WISH they would have been in costumes..... lol
but yeah, I think kids would have a fantabulous time!! and out on the river regular law applies..... ya know so it's not going to be nutso or anything out of the ordinary.... besides our attire and our additudes!! I'm ready to burn down the river!
I am not entirely familiar with the laws.... but I do know that smoking anything that is not tobacco is illegal and we don't do it. and I do know that I have seen naked people floating down the river before..... I don't know if they were breakin any "rules" or not..... lol
As any responsible parent knows if the kids comes they are responsible for em..... what they are exposed to, how they interact with others, etc, etc....... I know most of the parents I know are very responsible, but I also know If they aren't then as a community we should politely say so.

Besides someone has to hold back mommy's hair while she pukes. I'm kidding of course. I can hold back my own hair. But I don't like to infringe on other people's fun. I don't care and actually kind of like having kids running around doing dumb kid stuff. Connor can easily go to his dad's that weekend (although he's starting to get mad that I go cool places and don't take him) and I'm taking him on a float trip in early June, so it's up to everyone going. However he and my nephew would make damn fine pirates (I'm working on the tutu) and I make them go to bed around 10. -

I am totally into support networking.....if peeps wanna have fun on the river I can stay back and watch the young ones then when they fall asleep in the eveing I can have my fun with my new husband. This also depends on when the date is. THere is a lot that we have to do.
I am just really freaking excited that i am moving to STL!!!!!

I have an annual 'family' float trip (4th or 5th year running) that I've helped with a bit for the past few years, and will gladly discuss with you at Flipside. I must admit I must have a HUGE right brain / left brain conflict that does not permit me to paddle logically (though I can put the paddle to use in other ways if you want!). Most I know have conceeded it's best to let me be the queen or beer bitch of the boat, rather than have me paddle, unless you just need a good laugh or something. I'm not lazy, I just know what I'm good at. :o) -
