If you or a loved one are a firespinner/breather/eater, please read:
1. Circle of Fire, right by the effigy, will be holding fire jams nightly. Come on by. Camp Resurrection down in Sound Town will also. Because of the unusually high danger of brushfires this year, we're restricting fire performance to these two venues. CoF will also be hosting no-fire spin jams in the Grove on Friday and Saturday at 2:00.
2. Circle of Fire will be holding spotter training workshops at 5:00 PM on Friday and Saturday. We always need more spotters, especially for the Burn Night fire procession. These workshops help bring novice spotters up to speed.
3. All fire performers, jugglers, hoopers, and other object manipulators who want to participate in the Burn Night fire procession should assemble at Circle of Fire at 8:00 PM with an eye towards actually going on at about 9:00. And spotters. Like I said, we always need more spotters. If you plan to be a spotter, please consider attending one of the workshops.
4. Although we don't actually get to burn the effigy on Burn Night (we really need another name for that,don't we?), fire performance is still a go, unless we get a Red Flag warning, which is unlikely. So flame on!

Wed, May 20, 2009 - 6:14 AMYou might wanna take into consideration that there is no current legal burn ban at Flat Creek... so it's at the discretion of the LLC, not Johnny Law whether the Effigy burns or not. -

Wed, May 20, 2009 - 8:24 AM*you* might want to take into consideration that the property owner of Flat Creek, Child Inc, has decreed that there will not be an effigy burn this year, and that the Flipside organizers have sent out a message to all participants relaying this.
