I'm finding that there are three great factors in my getting fit:
1) Enjoying the environment I work out in.
- For me this means a good pool (ie, temp is kept around 78, uses chlorine alternative, not very crowded, clientèle is aware of lap pool etiquette, no water aerobic classes are taught in the pool, at least 25 yds in length)
2) Convenient workout place.
- My gym is directly on my path from home to work. That means I pass it every single day, and i have no excuse to not go inside.
3) Having the flexibility to alter my workouts radically to keep me interested.
- For cardio I alternate between swimming, yoga, and cardio equipment.
