Taking off from another recent post by "Michael," I was thinking that the Model Camp might want to be a central gathering point for models and artists, fine art or photography or other.... If a photographer wants a model to pose in front of the Temple, for example, he/she can find a stable of models at the Art Model Camp. Just a thought.....

01/04That is just what I was hoping. I was without my model last year and would have loved to have an "On Playa" model.
Our camp "Why Clothes" is planning on doing something like "First Thursday or Friday" where we have organized bike rides to art pieces on the playa. An art model would be a great addition to the ride. -

01/16Yes, my intent has been to set up a safe "home" for models, and have it be a connection point :-)
What I found was that at least half of the people modeling chose to be part of various other camps, and show up to model at ours. Having a list and camp locations of such models who were willing to be contacted by artists for other "gigs" on the playa might be another resource to tap into.
Or we could just have some kind of notice board in our camp that everyone could post to. And online. Any burningman artist is welcome to post such a request here in this tribe and if the idea takes hold someone can set these things up in advance as events and perhaps publish in the playa calendars.

01/16I think the notice board idea is a good one. A place where artists/photographers could post info about photo sessions/needs, and models could post locations of camps or where/when to meet, etc., etc. The camp is a nice "controlled" environment for sketching/painting. For more "uncontrolled" environments, the idea of the camp as a central meeting place seems good. It could be a place to meet, then go. Or a place to find out where models/artists can meet.
