Dear Everyone,
Would anyone like to lead this camp for 2008?
I, Luyah, am not planning to attend the big burn at the playa in 2008.
Would very much enjoy being part of this camp again when i do go to the burn, but i do not attend every year. If someone wants to take over being the main lead for the camp, for more than just 2008, that's totally cool with me.
At this time there are art supplies left over from 2007, and I have the shade structure and chairs available to loan for the camp.
Basically all that's needed is someone to say "YES, I CAN BE THE MAIN CONTACT PERSON FOR THIS CAMP" Preferably this would be a model or somebody with experience in life drawing.
thanks!
The Luyah

Re: Camp Leader for 2008
Sat, January 26, 2008 - 2:36 PMHi Luyah and Everyone. It's time to begin planning our camp again. We need someone to replace Luyah and I would like to volunteer. I want to get to BM this year and I'm excited about doing AMC again. Is there anyone else who would like to take her place instead. If so please speak up. Since I didn't make it to the camp last year and I need to rely on info. from those who experienced it. Who's bought their tickets?

Camp Leadership for 2008
Mon, February 4, 2008 - 9:25 PMBrittain,
Great if you can do it!
Jules was the main organizer, her energy was wonderful. Bad Ass was a consistently reliable and great looking male model. The others were great too, but the above two were the main ones who kept things together, and rallied others along as well.
Doug McGoon (aka Rebar) was the main voice of sanity, and food prep central. He does have his ticket, not sure what his plans are, but he's not a tribe regular so you probably need to e-mail him - the artmodelcamp yahoo group is still up and will work to contact him and perhaps a few others.
Gadget mentioned he's planning to camp outside of the AEZ this year.
The AEZ mayor needs to be contacted separately if you want to camp in the AEZ.

Re: Camp Leadership for 2008
Mon, February 4, 2008 - 9:42 PMI have my ticket, and so far plan to attend and model. Things may change, so I cannot commit to much, right now. I will put the word out on the Portland Burner tribe, however, and see what I can do. The camp is a great idea, and it should be supported and utilized.

Re: Camp Leadership for 2008
Sat, April 26, 2008 - 11:00 PMHello Everybody, It appears that I will not be able to attend Burning Man this year. I have planned for a while to go on a Spiritual Pilgrimage to Ireland and Scotland with my mother in June, and I thought I would be able to do both - however financially it appears not to be feasible. SO - who would please volunteer to lead the organization of the Art Model camp this year? You will obviously have help! There are many people returning and many new comers excited about joining. The response to the camp was so positive and so extensive! Luyah did the work of getting it together for its first year and so most of the hard part has already been accomplished. I would hate to not have the camp keep going. This year will definitely be even more popular than last year because we now have a strong following! Please speak up and post if you can do it - OR please post and with suggestions on who you know that might be good as Camp leader.

Re: Camp Leader for 2008
Mon, February 4, 2008 - 10:20 PMI am going again this year, but I didn't stay at your camp nor can I this year (unless my campmates crap out, which I think is unlikely). I do hope someone takes over and it continues, because I like plan to visit the art model camp more.
