Year round Stream

topic posted Thu, September 6, 2007 - 10:00 AM by  Gary
Going through a bit of Post Playa Depression now.......

Can you serve us a year round stream? Maybe adding little news tidbits on a daily basis. Announcements of local post parties, marriages etc....

Might be a good way to further the BM culture.......

I think this could become a big thing.....

It might in fact help virgins to understand the culture prior to showing up.

This might help groups like Critical Tits with the "atmosphere" issues?

I know that I would get more info from a stream than reading it on the BM site.... I'm lysdexic (sic) and I bet many, many others are in the same situation.

Thank you for being so active in the community and being so positive.

      Gary

And we often get requests for copies of some of our shows as they become pivital moments for folks, such as arriving or exodus shows.

        I can't wait!

yes! please please...and i'll help in anyway i can...listening to the stream helped me keep the spirit alive (and get some killer music!) while adjusting to non-playa life...and when are we gonna make a permanent BM community? yes its very important to spread the love and joy and spirit but i'm greedy i want a permanent community! it needs to be done! ^_^

Liz: there are two groups who wanna start permanent Burner communities: www.permaburn.org and www.floatingman.org

As for me, I say let's just use the infrastructure we already have out in the default world and funk it all up.

Can't you just imagine city buses turning into disco dance parties? All the grey concrete in Los Angeles (think: freeways) painted with murals. Ban cars (except art cars, of course), plant the streets with trees, and let the Pimp-My-Bikes rule the land.

And if drop your litter on the street, you get shot with a big ball of flame. Oh, the possibilities are endless!

        thanks!

yeah i just googled and found those sites and was coming back to make a posting but you beat me to it.

i like your vision it makes my tummy all warm and fuzzy...

random happenings in the office...if people are torn on what direction to take a project in...dance off!!! who ever has the best moves and dance spirit decides the direction. lol...man now i really need to get my film company going...just to have dance offs.

plus i got thinking about it and the thing that really struck me about BM (this was my first year) was you never knew where your next mind blowing/boggling experience would come from...and by setting up a permanent burner city...you are shuting yourself off from so many unxpectant and hopefully wonderful experiences.

sorry for hijacking the thread...but let me know if i can help in setting up a permanent BMIR radio wave...let the infiltrating and funkification begin!

I know that what I do is not the same as BMIR...it's half default world and half playa, but it may help you decompress a bit.

    And Bobzilla...thanks for doing this.

Im having a problem listening on line. Has it been turned off? Is this why there is a thread "year round stream" ? It must be in the works is my guess. Anyway we can hear archives anywhere on line right now?

Sorry but I did indeed take the stream down, on Saturday night. My pathetic little bit of bandwidth is simply hogged by serving it out. Still, it's our goal to get this up and running in a more permanent way very soon, and it sounds like our equipment may have arrived back from the playa. I've been hearing nothing but praise for what people have heard, so I'm definitely keen to see the stream get back up!
