I am coming from Bahrain and flying into SFO on the Friday before the event this year (on August 22, 2008). I'll be hitting up my storage space in San Jose to pick up gear, and will likely be on the early entry list. If all goes right, I'll be heading out to Tahoe that evening, and then picking up a bike in Reno on Saturday and going to the event.
At this point, I've reserved a rental car and would be interested in getting someone to share the driving and gas costs. In the alternative, if you have a vehicle and space and your plans kinda match up with mine, I'd be willing to explore giving up some radical self-reliance for a shared experience and splitting your gas costs.
Either way, come by the Black Rock Beacon and say "hi".
