.....the question of what happens when 'art' cars are built for go....not just for show...may be on its way to an answer. I'll stick around to find out.

Spelling, grammer and syntax are, also, in the eye of the beholder.....

What an interesting picture that brought to my mind. I hadn't really thought of these racing vehicles as being racing mutant vehicles before. Don't know why....other than friction, possible moop-factor, and the like.......because that makes me like it all the more. Speeding eyeballs (shooting flames, perhaps), faster than life snails, and other-worldy thing-a-ma-bobs whizzing by in a race to the 'finish' line. It would add a whole other dimension to the requirements from the Bureau of Mutant Vehicles, that's for sure. There would be a need to have thing MAJORLY attached...as well as creating new visuals if they would/could be racing at night....with all the light requirements that the BMV currently has in place....zooming by....leaving wondrous tracers....perhaps that would lead to some more creative light shows from some of the more handy and ingenious folks.

As for the spelling, grammar, and syntax....that's one of the many wonders of on-line communications....the ability to play, manipulate, and mutilate this pliable medium.

...now, keep in mind Black Rock's primary claim to fame before BM was....the US soil's only viable site to break the Land Speed Record. The only current team vying for that sound-barrier breaking feat are led by Ed Shadle-in my backyard. If the North American Eagle isn't the ultimate cobbled-together art car, I dunno what is. www.landspeed.com
Anyone familiar with the post WW2 B17 'bellytank' construction techniques used at Bonneville would 'get' the potential www.scta.org
I would suggest the safest and easiest way to get this going (YOU people work with BM corp!) would be contacting the SCTA and arranging an '08 demonstration "meet" on the playa with plenty of stock classes that would include securely affixed body parts.
On the other hand, what happens after midnight.......
