I am glad some of us are digging Firefly, i love all the fireflies in SC, it is one of my favorite things about being in the woods, seeing it hit dusk and seeing them light up the night sky and the way they dance around each other calling one another to each other through nothing more than a tiny bit of light in the darkness of night, i kinda hope we go with it, but that is just me... -

the thing that i really really like about the name Transformus is that it is a call to action, a request that we become something different than we are through the action of burning, not that any of the names that i have suggested do that, but i figured i would throw that out there and may-be someone else will be inspired...

i really really like this name the best so far, i love the word although i can't spell it without help, hopefully that wouldn't be that big of a deal, but should be considered when dealing with URLs and promotion in general...
oh yeah and i like it better with the capital on the S and the C since it is going to be in sc probably.

If not, maybe the name should be considered for the SC burn when it comes, or if it has to be out of state, then SC burn can get it's start nearby. What do the SC burners think of this? Maybe we should post something to "SC Burners Unite" and see what they say. For this name, I'd count their vote too.
I think it's one of the better names we've come up with so far. Not to knock Tfus, but "Transformus" is a little silly, and "Mysteria" is too, especially if you stop and think about it. Same with "Afterburn", "Preheat", "Heartburn", and others...just a little on the silly side (and so are the pARTicipants). SynchroniCity is pretty good because it names the event, the "city", and the state. Geez, it's almost like a whole address. I think it's just too good to pass up. Alchemy is the Georgia burn afterall, so it fits in that way too (state burns). -

Sat, March 22, 2008 - 7:49 AMThe city thing is kind of conceptual...the idea is that we create a temporary "city" for the space of the event. So, at Transformus they create the city of Mysteria, at Burning Man they create Black Rock City, and so on.
I'm liking SynchoniCity whether we find a site in SC or wherever...want to point out that what we're doing may not be an "official Tee Em Burn" though, it depends on some things like whether any Regional Contacts get on board with this as to whether we're considered a "real" Burn. That doesn't worry me a bit, though, if we're not official, so what?
It won't make the party any better or worse, one way or another!

I've never been to a burn event, but I've always dreamed of going to Burning Man and have been familiar with the culture for many years. Unfortunately, living on the east coast and not knowing anyone involved in these types of events, I didn't realize there were smaller regional burning events over here!
I'm super excited about the prospect of this taking place the same weekend as Transformus. How abou these for name suggests?

I'd suggest a name, but I'm pretty bad at that kind of thing.
I personally like Altburn or something along those lines. Altern-A-Burn maybe?
