Americana Absurdum Part 1 debuted at the original New York Fringe Festival 12 years ago, and will be making its Iowa Premier during the Crossroad Conference. The dark comedy follows a family-run business of undertakers on the day a scam-corporation plans a hostile take-over; meanwhile, the two children of the family face the vulnerability of the dreaded, singular event – The Senior Prom. Come witness the absurdity of Americana!

When: Dec. 3 @ 9:45pm / Dec. 5 @ 8pm
Ticket Price: $0.00

Winner of both The New York International Fringe Festival's Outstanding Writing award and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe First award, "Americana Absurdum" was also selected as the
"Critics Choice" by Time Out London.

"..a pair of caustic, hyperarticulate comedies which fan flames of inspiration. Playwright Brian Parks and an expert cast send up American culture in the venomous tradition of Christopher Durang."
-- The New York Times

"Sheer relentlessness of delivery. This is a fast show. It's also a virtuoso display of theatrical pyrotechnics. This is satirical social commentary - laughter with meaning. Frenetic."
-- Iain Macwhirter, London's Sunday Herald 20/08/00
