Good morning Tribe members!!
I don't know why I didn't post this sooner instead of scouring the web on my own. Sometimes I forget about my online friends so I do apologize for that. :)
Has anyone used recording services for their business? I've been looking for a good way to record training for my team, new product announcements for my customers, advertisements, etc.
I've looked into conference calls, 800#s with recorded message playback, and web casting. I am a member of the Direct Selling Women's Alliance and found a service through them that I signed up for. I have a 30-day free trial and will be attending a training call in a few minutes for it. It allows me to record conference calls, training, customer testimonials and more for about $20/month. They provide flash player interfaces and HTML code for any and all calls that I can use to add the recorded messages to my web site.
I also found another service through the DSWA that is $35/month and comes with an 800#, voicemail, recorded message playback, fax service, unlimited incoming minutes, ad tracker and more. That sounds like a super deal as well. I love the flat-rate and unlimited incoming calls. There are extra fees for outgoing, like if I use the follow-me feature and have the calls into the 800# forwarded to my home office phone, but it's a reasonable rate of 6.9 cents/a minute (pretty standard 800# rate from what I've seen).
Now with the first service I found I could refer 3 active members and receive my service free. On the second service if I refer 5 active users I would receive my service free. Now they are both pretty sweet deals that anyone can take advantage of, not just members of the DSWA. So I was pretty happy to find them. I signed up for the first one last night. I'm still contemplating the second. The services are different and both can be very useful. Both offer me a 30-day free trial so I suppose I could sign up for both and see which I like best. Both can very much help my business in more ways than one.
Okay, so that I don't make this the longest post ever...
Have you or do you use any similar services? How do you like it? Personally I think these type of services can greatly enhance my business, but would like to hear from others who might actually be doing this already.
Does anyone do web casting or conference calls? Who do you use and what kind of rates are you getting? I found many services online that do one or the other for free or nominal fees. I would like to find webcasting with VoIP capability.
Well I know that's a LOT of questions to ask in one post, but if you can provide feedback on any part I'd appreciate it.
Thanks in advance!!
Christina

Re: Creating Recorded Announcements, Ads, Product Education, Training, etc.

I've done conference calls and webcasting before. I used a service called Copper River. Very reasonable rates, and they have a feature that you can record the session (either from web or phone) and buy a CD/DVD with the informaiton on it for resale or archive. Their website is www.copperriverinc.com/. There are a lot of programs out there like this one... I just dont know them all.
I hope this helped?

Re: Creating Recorded Announcements, Ads, Product Education, Training, etc.
Fri, September 22, 2006 - 5:07 PMWell that's definitely a new one. I haven't heard of that. The CD/DVD is a pretty cool feature as well.
What I ended up doing was signing up for the 30-day free trial of Audio Acrobat. I attended a basic training the next morning via teleconference. I am really impressed with the service. Then just today I signed up for Simple Voice Box which is a free service.
I will be able to use both services quite nicely. With Audio Acrobat I can record customer testimonials via guest lines, training, conferences, and a lot more. I can also (with paid service - which I will be doing automatically when the trial ends) create podcasts and playlists. This is a very neat tool and I am really impressed with the company. I've already recorded a message for my downline team and a message that I added to one of my web sites. Would you like to see/hear it? I promise, it won't hurt your ears. :) If you'd like to see the beginning of my adventures with Audio Acrobat, go to www.Jerky4College.com/enroll.html (you don't have to actually enroll in anything) and click on the button to hear the message from Christina.
Now Audio Acrobat is a paid service, but they do offer a 30-day free trial. To learn more about it you can go to designsdivision.audioacrobat.com
The second service, the one I found today, is Simple Voice Box. You can sign up for a free mailbox and your greeting can pretty much be as long as you want. You have the option of giving your callers the ability to leave a message or not. It's great if you want feedback or for any reason OR if you just want your callers to be able to call in and get some info. For example, I plan to use it for promotions for my downline. I also plan to use it for training. What I'm working on today is a "sizzle call" that I can refer peopleto who are interested in my business opportunity. The only drawback is that when people call they here that it is a free service from the Simple Voice Box web site. I'm really not too concerned about that at this point... especially for potential business partners. It's a free tool to use and they can see that, if they want to, they could do the same thing without having to spend extra money. That web site is www.simplevoicebox.com if you'd like to learn more about that.
I just posted on another forum about the different services I found during my search. I'll copy and paste it here as well. Never know when someone else might be searching for the same thing.
Thank you for your reply, Philip. I'll have to take a look at Copper River. Oh, by the way, with Audio Acrobat you also have the ability to download any recording (once you are off the trial) as an MP3 which you could then save to a CD as well. So many great tools and services out there for business!! -

Sun, November 5, 2006 - 7:09 AMInteresting.
But does it work with low speed Internet? What I am stuck with for at least another year.
