My company is taking off and I am getting a growing demand for all my products, including "Language Brunch".
However, I have not found a way I find comfortable of collecting the money ahead of time. I am now talking of up to 80 people reserving ahead of time. I do not want the money collecting part to turn into a full-time job and I do not want to hire an employee to do this.
I have found an honest person who is also a bookeeper and could subcontract this to her. It shouldn't take all her time either.
Any idea on how I should go about this: bank account, proxy.
Also a way of tracking the people who have paid when they show up for the activity.
The whole process hasn't gelled in my mind.

This is a great idea, especially if I can obtain a reading.
I know I could set up a Paypal account but what about my students? How easy is it for them to access the account and make a payment?
Plus it must be all in French. I am in Québec and the area is unilingual French but that shouldn't be a problem. It is not well-known around here.
People can be trained.
I have done some research and will apply today. Paypal is also used by one of my translation customer. He simply transfers money from his account or margin quickly into the Paypal account. He asked me to open an account for swift payment. -

Sat, December 2, 2006 - 4:14 PMA lot of people have paypal accounts and I'm sure there is no problem with getting them in french. I'm pretty sure they have a quick pay system now so people can pay with their credit card if they don't have a paypal account already. -

This is North America but the people around here cannot order a coffee in English let alone affect that kind of transaction (though it could become part of the lesson).
People are not familiar with paypal around here.

Mon, December 4, 2006 - 4:51 PMPaypal does not offer its services in French for the Canadian account. This is a big mistake as a large segment of the population is French. I will offer my services as a translator.
They could be running the service under a different name here.
