NO ESCAPE
Running for my life as the torrid blackness descends
From an angry sky whose churning hunger pangs
Threaten to devour everything in sight.
There is no escape when the beast comes
Ravenous as it craves its next meal; me!
Blood is required to slake the spasms; a temporary resolution.
There is no escape when I have been marked as its prey.
Try as I must, there is no hiding place.
Cyclonic malevolence extends its claw piercing my heart; my very soul.
Death screams penetrate the night as my essence of life
Is sucked through my marrow and the scarlet river
Slurped and savored for its sweet delicacy and subtle nuances.
Life-force oozes from my assaulted body;
Slaking the thirst that permeates the beast's malicious abyss.
The hunter has been victorious; its quarry dispatched with ease.
Satiated; for now.
