How many out there view their black cat as their familiar. I have four cats, but Alober seems to be the one who chooses me more then the others.

Sat, October 6, 2007 - 9:56 PMI think of my black cat as my daemon (for all you His Dark Materials fans) except same gender. -

Mon, October 8, 2007 - 5:30 AMAfter housing, adopting and loving more than 8 black cats (not all are completely black) they seem to attract to me naturally. Does that qualify as familiar? When I was a youngen the white cats used to like me and come round for company. I love my black cats. -

Re: familiar
Fri, October 12, 2007 - 11:03 PMMany years ago, I had a beautiful, multidimensional little black kittie named Squeak. She always went to Circle with me, until a truly evil bad-news b*tch got her claws into me and magickally murdered Squeak.
Said bad-news b*tch very nearly killed me, too. There were waaaaayyyy too many near-misses w/cars over a 3-mo. period.
I always honor Squeak on Samhain.

Fri, October 26, 2007 - 8:08 PMI wish I could take my cat with me looking for mushrooms at the beach on Halloween. It might freak her out though. Perhaps I am getting old but it sounds like a nice halloween to sit with my cat in front of the fire and eat wet food together. -

Mon, October 29, 2007 - 5:56 AMMy black baby is too funny.......he is such a "burner" cat. He loves this damn tu-tu material to "wear" and play with and gets pissed if we move it at all from the floor and he loves his "candy-raver" necklace and actually begs to have us put it on, wants to play with my wings when they are out and loves all our furry things laying around......ah what a cat ;-)

Re: familiar
Sun, November 4, 2007 - 6:41 AMNew to this tribe...thanks for the invite i~bri
It is kinda of bittersweet to be here. My familiar was indeed my black kitty "Cinders" who came to me through changing several owners and into my life and my lap. I've had many cats growing up and always had one or two in my house but Cindy was bonded to me like no other ever has been. I am sure you are seeing the "was" here. She passed at age 14 due to kidney disease last year.
She was truly my familiar and stayed with me in my sorrows, danced with me in joy. When I had my kids she protected them even when another bullying cat would attack at her and tried to swipe at my baby. I will probably always miss her.
Technically, I am still an "owner" of a black cat. My husband's cat, Luciano, lives with us, but he is part siamese and has bonded with my husband. Luciano is very jealous and possessive and is visibly annoyed when I get in bed when he has cuddled under hubby's arm.
So I am waiting for a new familiar to come back in my life at the moment. But I hope to enjoy your stories and in doing so remember my own with Cindy
